COM 317-Midterm
M.U.G.E.N. wasn’t able to be uploaded without the install on the ilearn dropbox and wasn’t even supported through voicethread. Created a game with obama and clinton using game maker. Can be found in my iLearn dropbox, here’s the address in case you have access… https://ilearn.marist.edu/access/content/user/10074938@marist.edu/gregmastocom317.gmk if there’s a problem I...

COM 317--Ian Bogost--Airport Security
Ian Bogost is a professor at Georgia Tech University and a founding partner at Persuasive Games. Unlike most video games, he centers them around several issues like airport security or corruption in businesses. There is even a first date simulator where your quickness and what you say is tested. All of his works deal with issues as there is a much larger picture that needs to be addressed as...

The Holiday is here!
So now I can pick up Call of Duty 4? Not that I’m mad, the game looks amazing. Graphics, gameplay, online play, all I’ve heard for even the PS3 version has been nothing short of perfection. But where are the big titles for the PS3? Stores are rarely carrying the Guitar Hero III version for the system while there are plenty of Playstation 2 and Xbox 360 ones lying around and going by...

Game Rules
Greg Masto, Tom DeKeyser, Jeff Ollendorf Title: Super Intern Short Description: Super Intern: College students always look for an edge to “get their foot in the door.” To get their name out there as quickly as possible to have a career when they graduate. One way to do this: get an internship. However, that may not always be enough. There could be times when one is asked to do something they do...
DewMocracy Ad
An ad was just shown to us hyping the fact that any one person can go online to “dewmocracy.com” and customize a version of Mountain Dew. Maybe, there’s will be chosen. The ad itself was very interesting, it had a blade runner like feel to it. This so called future with these dark poor cities around it gave off some of the scenes. Mountain Dew wants to keep their customers...
Challenges with Machinima
With the many difficulties of Half Life-2 and steam, we as a group had to chagne to a different game in order for this scene to coem out a little better. Where multiplayer failed and it almost looked like we were taking stills, we turned to Team Fortress 2 to help the flow of animation and it had another plus: set terms for the players to speak. However while it did come with a lot of help, there...
Pulp Fiction-""Hamburgers"
http://youtube.com/watch?v=PE9Qm8mShik This scene right here is the scene my group and I are currently remaking for machinima. The scene itself is about a minute long from the 3:45-4:45 marks.

A Reason to Play the Waiting Game...SFIV
Just announced: Street Fighter IV. After years and years of waiting…I can now wait even longer for a reason. All kidding aside Capcom’s announcement of Street Fighter IV immediatly got me psyched. The teaser trailer itself was beautifully done and I wonder if this 2-D/3-D route is what capcom is shooting for. I guess I’ll doubt for now that it will be a 2-D fighter, Capcom has...
Research for Game
With trying to find a range for someone my mom’s age, it’s hard to figure just what knd of game she or someone her age would like to play. After all, how many times has someone seen there mom pick up a controller and just sit maybe an hour nad play games? Now I’m sure there out there but mine isn’t one of them. So upon asking her, she brought into account how her and her...
The rumours are actually true...
To all Smash bros. and Sonic fans, your wish has come true, as of October 10th, 2007: Sonic has officially been confirmed for Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii. There had been a lot of speculation as many fake pics were brought up even before the release of several characters and despite info being leaked onto wikipedia, there were still some doubts as to how people came to this....
AND THE MOST POPULAR PS3 GAME AS OF 10/9/07 IS....
Hmm i’m an owner of a playstation 3, i enjoy it, yet here I am to probably rant, rave, and make fun of another aspect of the PS3. Now with all of the games one could look forward to…Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band, GTA IV, I could go on…however according to Gamespot the most popular PS3 game today is Resistance: Fall of Man. Now do’nt get me wrong, I love this game, in fact it is...

Ninja Gaiden II...might have to buy that 360..
Now I’m a big fan of Ninja Gaiden. With the sequal being released as mentioned from the Tokyo Game Show, I was more than excited. I’ve enjoyed playing Ninja Gaiden on Xbox and the port to PS3 (Ninja Gaiden Sigma). However, in comes a problem, I have no Xbox 360. And despite Tecmo porting it to Sony the last time, they have no say in who gets this sequal. The game is being bankrolled...
Sony's number of the day: 16.9
I’m probably one of the few who still enjoys playing the playstation 3 despite the fact it has very few games to go on right now. I guess Resistance can’t do everything and with the release of Halo 3 coming I can only see things going down for the next couple of months. vgchatz.com or “Video Game Chartz” shows that the Playstation 3 is currently 16.9% of the market whereas...
Bloxorz...another addicting puzzle game.
Who knows what it is with simple puzzle games. They don’t have the advanced graphics of a playstation 3 or xbox 360. They don’t even have the interactivity of today’s nintendo wii. Yet they are very addicting. Could be it’s free, after all it’s easy to pick up and try to play. The game naturally gets progressivley difficult yet all of a sudden on level 7 appears...
Lair: Another PS3 Disappointment
I like to play any kind of video game but the majority of people know I’m a big Playstation junkie. With the playstation 3 however, it just seems that I’ve been overly hyped on some games. Resistance: Fall of Man, great, one of my favorite games right now for it being just a first person shooter. Then I get the Darkness and the life is sucked out of me. It takes me less than two hours...
